first DTP package on the Atari ST I have been involved in computer design from the very first DTP package on the Atari ST producing work for the family print business owned my my mother. Back then all artwork was being laid out on paper, output via linotype machines, with graphics being stripped in on layout boards, ready to be photographed to make printing plates. Computer printers were expensive, but decent laser printers were getting cheaper by the week. Working for the family business I was earning extra money using Calamus on an Atari 520 ST. I had always been competent with a computer and got excellent grades at school in art and computers. With poor careers advice, I attended college, completing a HND in Business and Finance and two A levels in Sociology and Psychology.

photoshop 1.0 During these three years, I was working more for the family business, expanding the shop and developing my skills, eventually equipping ourselves with better equipment and an early Mac. From the days of pagemaker and photoshop 1.0, I picked up the skills needed to produce work for clients coming through the family business. Eventually we expanding the business by providing artwork for other printers in the local area and full colour design work..

Whilst trying to broaden my horizons I completed work for the likes of TC Harisons, and some larger local manufacturing companies brought in through a local agency. During this time I had learnt the key areas of website design creating bespoke sites for customers in the surrounding area.

Nixin Design is aiming high After an extensive sabbatical traveling the world I returned to launch my own company - Nixin Design, laying out the basic plan in June 2007 and later launching it at the end of September that year. It felt like the most natural step in the world, we're never looking back! Nixin Design is aiming high, pushing not only our design skills but our level of customer service to the limit, putting to use my education (business studies, sociology and psychology). Our knowledge is helping us not only understand our customers needs but those of their clients also, providing marketing strategy advice when required.

Our ethos is simple Our Ethos is simple - to provide cost effective, professional, tailor made design to suit our clients needs at all times.
